Your Recovery Timeline
Here's what to expect during your recovery journey, from the first few hours to long-term maintenance.
First 2-4 Hours
The anesthesia will begin to wear off. During this time:
- Do NOT eat or drink hot beverages until numbness completely wears off
- Avoid touching or playing with your new restorations
- Mild discomfort is normal โ take prescribed pain medication if needed
- Keep your head elevated to reduce any swelling
First 24 Hours
The most critical period for your new smile:
- Stick to soft, room-temperature foods only
- Avoid very hot or very cold foods and drinks
- Do NOT brush the treated area โ gentle rinse only
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated
- Take anti-inflammatory medication if prescribed
- Avoid smoking and alcohol completely
Days 2-7 (First Week)
Your teeth are adjusting to the new restorations:
- Begin gentle brushing with a soft-bristled toothbrush
- Use the sensitive toothpaste provided in your aftercare kit
- Continue with soft foods โ pasta, fish, scrambled eggs, soup
- Avoid biting directly into hard foods
- Sensitivity to hot/cold is normal and will subside
- Attend your follow-up appointment before leaving Turkey
Week 2-4
Most sensitivity should resolve during this period:
- Gradually return to your normal diet
- Start using regular toothpaste (non-abrasive)
- Begin flossing gently around restorations
- Any lingering sensitivity should decrease significantly
- Your bite should feel natural and comfortable
Month 1 & Beyond
Long-term maintenance for a lasting smile:

- Maintain excellent oral hygiene โ brush 2x daily, floss daily
- Use a night guard if you grind your teeth

Daily Care Essentials
Simple daily habits that will keep your Hollywood smile looking beautiful for decades.
Brush Properly
Brush twice daily for 2 minutes using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste. Use gentle, circular motions.
Floss Daily
Floss at least once daily to remove plaque between teeth and around restorations. Consider using a water flosser for easier cleaning.
Use Mouthwash
Rinse with an alcohol-free antibacterial mouthwash daily. This helps kill bacteria and keeps breath fresh.
Wear Night Guard
If you grind or clench your teeth at night, wear a custom night guard to protect your restorations from damage.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. This helps wash away food particles and keeps your mouth healthy.

Long-Term Maintenance
Keep your smile looking perfect for 15-25+ years with these habits.
Regular Checkups
Visit your local dentist every 6 months. Professional cleanings remove buildup and allow early detection of any issues.
Night Guard Use
If you grind or clench your teeth (bruxism), always wear your custom night guard to protect your restorations.
Quit Smoking
Smoking stains restorations, damages gums, and reduces the lifespan of implants. Quitting protects your investment.
Limit Staining Drinks
While veneers are stain-resistant, bonding cement can discolor. Use a straw for coffee, tea, and red wine.
Sports Protection
Wear a mouthguard during contact sports or activities where dental injury is possible.
Photo Documentation
Take photos of your smile every 6 months. This helps track any changes and provides records for your dentist.
